Animals are found in every part of the world. Some live in forests. Others live in hot, sandy deserts. Some live in lakes, rivers and the sea.
Wild animals itself look after themselves. They make their homes where they will have enough food and water. Some of them do not make homes for themselves. They live under the shade of trees or in caves. They want to be safe from other animals which may eat them. They also want their babies to be safe. They need to keep dry if it rains. They need to keep warm in winter. Some wild animals, like elephants, live in groups or herds. They look for food together. They warn each other of danger. Their habitat is usually a forest with lots of trees and tall grass in Asia or Africa.
Animals like the tiger and the lion hunt other animals. They live in places where their food is easily available like in the Afrikan savannah.
A tree is a habitat for many animals. Some of them eat fruits. Animals like monkeys live in the trees of Africa, Asia and South America.
Giraffes live in the dry savanna and dry open woodland areas of sub-Saharan Africa. Their habitat needs to have a good supply of trees.
Zebras live well in several different kinds of habitats. Some habitats are dry and like a desert, some have lots of grass and plenty of rain, The zebra is a strong, social animal that lives in the southeastern countries of Africa.
Crocodiles are found all across the world. Since crocodiles are excellent predators, they have managed to live in Africa, Australia, Asia, and Central and North America. Most crocodiles live in freshwater rivers and lakes but some live in saltwater.
Bears are large, powerful mammals, there are several species, or types, of bears they are found in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. They are often found in mountainous areas and forests.
There are two different types of gorillas, eastern gorillas, and western gorillas. You will find leastern gorillas in the forests in both Western and Central Africa, like Angola, Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Western gorillas can be found in the mountainous areas of Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. Rhinoceros are large, heavy animals. They are vegetarian and need to eat a lot of food such as grass and branches. They lived in the grassland Africa and in the tropical forest of Asia.
